Management Engineering
This Ph-D program is the natural extension of those existing in ETS Ingenieros Industriales of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid since the academic year 1972-73. Namely, this program replaces the Ph-D program in Industrial Engineering as regulated in “Real Decreto 1393/2007” .
Industrial Engineering is a field of knowledge experiencing great expansion and very energetic scientific development.
Most of the faculty in charge of the program belong to the Departamento de Ingeniería de Organización, Administración de Empresas y Estadística, de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The general objectives of the Ph-D program in Industrial Engineering are as follows:
The regulatory body for the Ph-D curriculum may be found in: Estudios de Doctorado.
- To contribute to produce highly qualified professionals, capable of dealing with, analyzing and building models which contribute to decision making (also in the context of uncertainty) in specific industrial engineering problems, taking into account, whenever appropriate, the balance between satisfaction of economic, social and environmental requirements.
- To generate, and make available to society, the body of knowledge necessary to engage complex problems, by either modifying the already existing techniques or by developing new ones, which may be in turn, of more general applicability.
- To support high quality scientific production..
- To promote collaboration in the fields of knowledge spanned by the program, , with colleagues from other national or foreign research centers.
- To produce researchers which may work in positions requiring a Ph-D degree, in post-doc jobs, as faculty, researchers in Institutes or in R&D departments of companies and any other Jobs requiring creativity, leadership and management skills within the field of industrial engineering..
