4th UPM/CEIDEN Workshop on“Neutronic Design of Small Modular Reactors”
May 19, 2022. Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Instituto de Fusion Nuclear “Guillermo Velarde”.
ETS de Ingenieros Industriales de Madrid, Madrid, Spain.
The aim of this Workshop is to bring together users and developers in the field of nuclear
data and reactor physics to discuss and exchange our expertise on neutronic design of Small
Modular Reactors. It could be a good opportunity for identifying areas of future developments
and cooperation among the participants. The workshop will serve to identify research topics and
challenges in neutron simulation and validation requirements in SMRs such as:
• High burnup and high enrichment
• Long fuel cycle operation
• Boron free
• Advanced materials for fuel and cladding
• More innovative loading patterns
Thus, the workshop scope will cover different topics of interest for neutronic design in SMRs:
• Nuclear data needs
• Neutronic modelization: Lattice codes – Core codes
• Depletion/burnup calculation
• Neutronic safety analysis
• Sensitivity Analysis/Uncertainty Quantification
Registration: by e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a no-fee Workshop.Workshop will be conducted through video-conference only.
